Come visit our farm animals and spend some time with our sheep, Misty & Shona, as well as Opal, the farms sweetest little pig. You'll also get to feed Opal's parents Ken & Bae and visit with the goats for a bit. Wrap up your experience with our chickens. You may even spot a bunny or two!

Animal Feedings are offered every Wednesday 1-4pm and Saturday 9-12pm. Pre-registration is required.

Ticket Price
The cost of animal feeding is $15 per adult - children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Led by Farmer Rich, our most knowledgable farmer, you'll explore the various growing areas, ponds, seasonal creeks, food forest, and more. This tour is an excellent opportunity to learn about regenerative agriculture and permaculture while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of our farm.

During the tour, Farmer Rich will be happy to answer any questions you may have about getting started with growing your own produce or enhancing your current gardening practices. You'll discover how simple it can be to restore nutrient-rich soil in your backyard, and learn some tips and tricks to save you money and grow your own nutrient-dense food.

At Young Pioneers children immerse in outdoor experiential learning on a six-acre family farm. As they explore ponds, gardens, and trails full of native and pollinator attracting flowers and food crops, they observe the cycles and interconnectedness of nature.

Our programs utilize Forest School, Waldorf, and STEAM principles. Using curriculum inspired by Rutabaga Education and the seasonal cycles of nature and the farm, experienced teachers develop our curriculum to ensure the learning needs of children in each age group are met in fun and engaging ways. Children play and learn at their level in small groups based on age.

Welcome to an exciting journey beneath our feet! In our Dirt, Soil, Clay and More week, campers will explore the mysteries of dirt, soil, and clay through engaging hands-on activities. From crafting mud milkshake concoctions to sculpting clay masterpieces, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Our exploration begins with a deep dive into the intricate ecosystems thriving beneath the surface. Campers will learn about the essential roles of underground critters like earthworms and rollie-pollies in maintaining healthy soil.

But the excitement doesn't end there! We'll also uncover the hidden communication networks of trees, mushrooms, and plant roots, playing games to simulate their complex interactions. Through experiments and activities, campers will gain a newfound appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living things.

In our art corner, creativity knows no bounds as we paint with mud and craft clay sculptures from recycled materials. Armed with nature's treasures, campers will unleash their imaginations to create stunning artworks and erupting clay volcanoes.

Through engaging discussions, students will discover the essential role of shelters in providing sanctuary throughout history. From sturdy castle walls to cozy teepees, the diverse array of structures will inspire an appreciation for human ingenuity.

While the cobb house walls dry, students will unleash their creativity through painting and cave art. Inspired by ancient storytelling traditions, they'll create their own cave art pieces, preserving the legacy of Cobb House Creations for future generations.

In addition to the water excitement, campers will unleash their creativity with hands-on miniature boat building. Using materials like popsicle sticks, straws, and recycled materials, they'll design and construct their own mini boats, ready to set sail on our final day for an exhilarating boat race.

But the highlight of the week is the Melon Mania itself! Campers will indulge in watermelon eating contests, enjoy watermelon-themed arts and crafts, and even dive into watermelon science experiments to uncover the secrets of this delicious fruit.

Come and join us at Sand N Straw for an incredible natural dyeing workshop. This workshop is an opportunity for you to discover the magic of creating natural dyes using materials from the earth. You'll get to learn how to make and use a natural mordant and have a blast bundle dying silk and cotton scarves.

In this workshop, we use materials found on our farm to create a range of earthy tones. For instance, we'll show you how to use avocado pits to make a lovely pale pink, and eucalyptus leaves to achieve sunny yellows. There are many other materials that you can use to create beautiful colors, all of which we'll explore together during the workshop.

Our natural dyeing workshop is suitable for all ages, so whether you're an experienced crafter or just starting, come along and join in the fun. Get ready to immerse yourself in the process of natural dyeing and leave with a beautiful scarf that you'll be proud to wear or give as a gift.

Come take a tour of our 6 acre farm including the ponds, seasonal creeks, growing areas, food forest and more! You'll learn about regenerative agriculture and permaculture, while exploring the farm guided by one of our farmers. Farmer Rich would love to talk with you about how to get started growing your own produce or how to enhance what your already doing. There's a lot that can be done to restore your backyard dirt into nutrient rich soil. Now's the time to start planting your winter garden and/or plotting out your future garden. With a few simple tricks, you can save yourself quite a bit of money and grow nutrient dense food from your own backyard.
